We are a newly formed Crew, consisting of experienced Scouters and Outdoorsmen. We're sponsored by VFW Post 2718 because of our dedication to our nation's veterans. Part of our proceeds from all fundraising will go back to the VFW to aid in their efforts to support the veterans.
We teach firearms handling and safety as well as outdoor skills including but not limited to: camping, cooking, hiking, and wilderness survival. We participate in shooting sports, hunting, and fishing.
Another branch of our scope is community service. We are here to teach the youth about becoming responsible adults and preserving our environment for future generations.
What is Venturing?
Venturing is an inclusive program through the Boy Scouts of America for males and females aged 14-21 (or 13 and completed the 8th grade). It’s operated through Venturing Crews, units of youth and advisors that meet on set schedules and plan activities and events for youth like you!
The Venturing program aims to enable young adults to:
Experience a program that is fun and full of challenge and adventure.
Acquire skills in the area of their crew’s specialty.
Become a skilled training and program resource for other youth groups.
Experience positive leadership from adult and youth leaders and be given opportunities to take on leadership roles.
Learn to make ethical choices throughout their lives by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Have a chance to learn and grow in a supportive, caring, and fun environment.
"Scouting provided me with skills I still use in my daily life. It helped shape me into the person I am today."
"Planning these trips as a group gives me something to look forward to."
"I'm just excited to see how the Crew will grow. It's so cool to be one of the founding members."
